The Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre Society proudly presents the Arts Club Theatre production of Mom's The Word III - Nest 1/2 Empty on Wednesday, November 8 at 7:30pm at the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre. Please note that this production contains mature subject matter, coarse language and nudity. This production also uses water-based, non-toxic theatrical haze.

This third installment of the hilariously real comedy series, Mom's The Word III - Nest 1/2 Empty follows real moms as they face the next chapter of their lives. The kids have grown, marriages have evolved (or dissolved), and bodies are starting to backfire. Filled with hysterical insights, embarrassing secrets, and deeply touching moments, the characters share personal histories in a side-splitting celebration of motherhood.

Before "mommy bloggers" and Hollywood's take on mommy comedies, the Mom's the Word Collective has been mining what it means to be mothers since 1993. Conceived by a group of Vancouver actors, their portrayal of motherhood, marriage and more has received international acclaim. In 1995 they premiered the instant hit Mom's the Word, followed by Mom's the Word 2: Unhinged ten years later. Having followed the growth and change of these real-life moms for over 20 years, audiences are now granted the next chapter and a new generation of laughs.

Written by and starring Jill Daum, Alison Kelly, Robin Nichol, Barbara Pollard, and Deborah Williams, the topics and tales told by these talented women are poignant and relatable for women and men at any stage in their lives.

Written by William Goldman, based on Stephen King's chilling thriller of the same name, Misery follows Paul Sheldon, a successful romance novelist, as he's kidnapped by a rabid fan - Annie Wilkes. Angered that he has killed off her favourite character, Annie forces Paul to resurrect her in a new book. Captive in a secluded home, Paul finds himself writing for his freedom, and his life!

The Arts Club Theatre is the largest theatre company in Western Canada, and has brought quality productions to Vernon for many years. Lead by Artistic Managing Director Bill Millerd, who was awarded the Order of Canada in 1994 for his contribution to Canadian theatre, the Arts Club Theatre is based in Vancouver and tours high quality professional productions throughout British Columbia.

Stephen King's Misery was nominated for the World Fantasy Award for Best Novel in 1988 and has since inspired films and plays. This staged production expertly adapts King's unsettling story and the edge-of-your-seat performance will leave you out of breath and wanting more.

"You're lucky to be alive right now because you get to see Onegin." - The Georgia Straight

Arts Club Theatre returns with the smash hit Onegin, a passionate new musical featuring a stirring score and a timeless story of love and jealously. It's winter in Russia long, long ago, and Evgeni Onegin is visiting the Larin family home. When his presence stirs romance and passion long forgotten by its residents, relationships are torn apart by jealousy and swords clash in an epic duel. Onegin sold out its 3.5 week premiere run, and has audiences buzzing more than any new work the Arts Club has ever released.

Based on Pushkin's original poem and Tchaikovsky's opera of the same name, Onegin is written by Amiel Gladstone and Veda Hille. Having worked together on other hit shows like Do You Want What I Have Got? A Craigslist Cantata and East Van Panto, the ingenious musical theatre duo complement each other's best qualities. Directed by Gladstone with musical direction by Hille, who also acts as one of the onstage musicians, Onegin is the team's first co-written full-length musical.

Cleaning up at the Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards, Onegin brought home Outstanding Production, Outstanding Direction, Outstanding Performance by and Actor and Actress in a Lead Role, Outstanding Original Composition, Significant Artistic Achievement and many more.

Full of exquisite dancing, terrific costumes, and bold lighting, Onegin sweeps audiences away to Russia with swooning music and compelling performances. Don't miss it!

The Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre Society proudly presents Lucas Myers' production of Campground on Saturday, March 17 at 7:30pm at the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre. Campground is the final show in the Society's 2017/18 Theatre Series.

Lucas Myers of Pilot co Pilot Theatre brings to the stage his hilarious production of Campground. This one-man murder-mystery with music has audiences gathering evidence to solve the case of the missing camper. Lucas Myers' trademark brand of humor and character work brings a campground of suspects to life in this vivid comedy.

When a young man goes missing from a provincial campground, an overzealous detective is on the case. There are four suspects, a lack of evidence (and toilet paper!), and a lot of laughs in these woods. But audiences be warned, this production makes use of flashlights, self-discovery, and didgeridoo!

Audiences are invited to do some sleuthing on their own before the show, by visiting the Facebook profiles of Justin Case from Vancouver and Michael Hodgkins from Medicine Hat. Get out your deerstalker hat and magnifying glass, and see if you can find any clues!
