Grassroots blues. Wistful soul. Boot-stomping bass. Nestled deep in the beautiful Kootenay mountains of Western Canada lies the home of Moontricks, an electro-folk, or “folktronica” duo formed by Nathan Gurley (production, keyboards, guitar) and Sean Rodman (vocals, guitar, banjo, harmonica), who describe their sound as a "backwoods bass".

They are widely known for blending organic folk, roots rock, and blues with modern electronic production. They burst onto the scene with their 2013 debut single “Home” which has amassed millions of streams and been featured on television networks, including Netflix and Fox Sports.

Known for their dynamic live shows, the duo has performed at major festivals across North America—including nearby events in the Okanagan and Shambhala—as well as internationally in Australia and Costa Rica.

Following several successful EPs, they released their debut full-length album, Currents, in 2022 via Westwood Recordings, described as “vast, intimate, and dazzling.”

Fans and critics alike describe Moontricks live shows as “a high-energy yet chilled-out ‘technicolor campfire’ experience where blistering blues and deep, groovy basslines meet live instruments.”
