The Okanagan Symphony Youth Orchestra (formerly the YSO) celebrates its 25th Anniversary and you are all invited to the party. A new commission by founder, Imant Raminsh opens in festive tribute. We shine the spotlight on the Okanagan's own Colleen Venables and wrap up the party with the triumphant 1812 Overture. Don't miss this side-by-side celebration!

The golden era of Vienna is brought to life in its popular music. We welcome back four alumni from UBC's Opera Ensemble to share our stage. Featuring music of the Strauss dynasty and contemporaries, the romantic and comical arias, the carefree polkas and swirling waltzes are sure to sweep you away in the romance of Vienna.

Recognized for his poetic and mature playing, the eighteen year old pianist Jan Lisiecki performs all over the world. He will reprise his concerto debut, Mozart No. 9 which he performed under the baton of our own Rosemary Thomson at the age of nine. Paired with the charming Bizet Symphony composed when he was seventeen, this program showcases those with wisdom beyond their years.

Guy and Nadina bring an unusual duo of trumpet and bassoon which they perform with brilliance and infectious high spirits. Their virtuosity is showcased in solo and double concertos. Music from the baroque era shares the stage with more contemporary repertoire of great beauty that is sure to delight.

The OSO joins the celebration of Asian Heritage month with music from a rich and colourful tradition. Folk songs of Korea and the Phillipines juxtapose with Bollywood. Brilliant violinist Susanne Hou returns to our stage to bring the ancient Chinese legend of the Butterfly Lovers to life. Ensemble Liberta from Kelowna's twin city Kasugai celebrate their heritage and we wrap it up with the Yamabiko Taiko drummers guaranteed to bring the house down!
