Chris Murphy has been in the band Sloan for over 30 years. Chris got into the super group game in 2015 when he formed a trio called TUNS (rhymes with buns) with Matt Murphy (Super Friendz/The Flashing Lights) and Mike O’Neill (The Inbreds). Now on a supergroup kick, he formed Trans-Canada Highwaymen in 2017 with Steven Page (ex Barenakedladies), Moe Berg (The Pursuit of Happiness) and Craig Northey (Odds).
Then in 2018 some of his other musician friends were complaining they weren’t in a super group so Chris went ahead and agreed to make Anyway Gang with Sam Roberts (Sam Roberts Band), David Monks (Tokyo Police Club) and Menno Versteeg (Hollerado). Please don’t ask Chris to form a group with you. He doesn’t have time. What little time Chris has left over has been earmarked for solo shows where Chris plays songs and tells stories accompanied by acoustic guitar.

Celeigh Cardinal’s powerful voice and evocative storytelling have earned her widespread acclaim. Her third studio album, Boundless Possibilities (2024), marks a defining chapter in her career—an odyssey through grief, independence, and spiritual awakening. Anchored by the luminous “Light of the Moon,” which won 2024 Songwriter of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards, the album received two JUNO nominations in 2025 (Adult Contemporary Album and Contemporary Indigenous Artist of the Year) and won Indigenous Songwriter of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards.
Cardinal also performed during the In Memoriam tribute at the 2025 JUNO Gala, further solidifying her status as one of Canada’s most compelling performers. Her debut album earned Indigenous Artist of the Year at the 2018 Western Canadian Music Awards, and her sophomore release won a JUNO in 2020. Her music has been featured in film and TV, and she has toured internationally, including Expo 2020 Dubai, Reeperbahn, UK Americana, and Ireland’s Your Roots Are Showing. She is part of Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall’s 2025 Artist in Residence program.
Cardinal’s work transcends genre and expectation, offering a mirror for personal reflection and a map for resilience. With each song, she welcomes listeners into a sonic space of tenderness, truth, and possibility.
